TOKYO, October 9, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- At CEATEC JAPAN 2012 currently underway at the Makuhari Messe International Convention Complex in Chiba city, prominent IT journalists from the U.S. selected and awarded outstanding technologies and concepts in the "U.S. Media Panel Innovation Awards" during an award ceremony held on October 4, 2012.
Products were chosen from exhibits at the CEATEC JAPAN 2012, or from products, technologies, or services which exhibitors had applied for consideration.
Their selection for the awards were based on the following criteria: 'Does the introduction of this product offer tangible merits to consumers? And in particular, is the product worthy of introduction to U.S. consumers?'
The selection committee interviewed participants at each booth on the 2nd and 3rd of October during the convention. After review and consideration by the selection panel, products, technologies and services were selected for awards from each category. From these finalists, they chose the 'Grand Prix' award winner. In addition, a special award in the 'smart mobility' category was selected. This year, a unique recognition award from the review committee was established in the 'user interface' category.
