Looking back to 2007, China’s electronic special equipment and instrument market presents the following characteristics:

Industrial and key events became the booster for the computer products’ development

Beijing Olympic Games, Shanghai World Expo and Asian Games in Guangzhou bring lots of investment opportunities to these cities. IT applications which emphasize on emergency response system and intelligence community’s construction gradually step into right path in these cities. IT applications will play an important role in driving market development.

As for industry application, 3G’s construction will drive the increase of communications, consumer electronics and IT service markets. IT applications in finance industry will have an in-depth development. The constructions of e-government, digital city, digital Olympics will promote the development of computer equipment, software and IT service markets to a great extent. The IT application in traditional industries such as agriculture, medical and architecture will enter a deepening stage.

Acquisition integration becomes shortcut for improving UPS product line

The acquisition integration between international UPS manufacturers in UPS industry was most remarkable in 2007. Whether be the convergence of APC and MGE, Powerware acquiring MGE’s UPS with low power or Eaton acquiring PHOENIXTEC POWER, these events attracted more attention from insiders. The subjects of these acquisitions are remedying defects, improving UPS product line and the quality of channels. It is obvious that major UPS manufacturers are not satisfied with current status and their current advantages, they would like to explore markets in their former weak field. Acquisition is the most simple and direct way to improve product lines.

The oscilloscope markets in 1-2 tier cities are the main sales market, and the markets in 3-4 tier cities grow rapidly

The sales revenue of the oscilloscope markets in 1-2 tier cities reached 500 million Yuan. The markets in 3-4 tier cities reached 270 million Yuan. Because of the intense competition and manufacturers’ expansions, major manufacturers pay attention to the 3-4 tier markets and dig new emerging market demands. Therefore, 3-4 tier markets will grow rapidly.

Competition in communications power supply will take place in technology and quality

Compared with other electric products, communications power supply has the characteristics such as ever-lasting vitality and high profit. Rapid developments in communications industry has led global communications power supply put forward higher requirements to manufacturers at the aspects of technology and quality. The change of communication power supply market firstly presents on the progress of technology. Products’ regeneration breaks some manufacturers’ monopoly.

UPS products converge with integrated solution and manufacturers extend the concepts of green and energy-saving

More and more manufacturers consider UPS as one part of industrial integrated power supply solution. With IT technology’s rapid development, data explosion has become an inevitable problem. People pay more attention to data protection. UPS manufacturers’ products promotion not only stays at the products’ promotion, but also extends UPS industrial solution. More and more manufacturers have put forward the concepts of green and energy-saving, which could promote the healthy development of UPS industry.
