Strategic Partnerships and Customer-Focused Investments Drive Business Performance

SINGAPORE, Nov. 26 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- Cable&Wireless Worldwide, a market leader in delivering business critical communications globally, is building its infrastructure services capabilities and strengthening its partnership agreements in China, to continue its significant growth in the region.

During the past year, the company has consolidated and expanded its partnership with China Telecom and China Unicom. Cable&Wireless has a world-class network connecting China to the rest of Asia Pacific, Europe and the United States. The Company's partnership with China Unicom enables it to utilise three Points-of-Presence (PoPs) in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou. Cable&Wireless also has two network-to-network interface (NNI) agreements with China Telecom that enable it to connect customers throughout the country.

Since 2008, Cable&Wireless has increased its network capacity and rolled out its next-generation Multi-Service Platform (MSP) infrastructure in China. The MSP across China, is fully integrated with Cable&Wireless' global MSP and core director network. The company has also invested in a Global Customer Front Office in Hong Kong delivering 24x7 Mandarin and Japanese language support enabling comprehensive fault finding and resolution for customers across North Asia.

During the last six months, Cable&Wireless has grown its business in China with customers such as Huawei, Infoplex, Marks&Spencer and Tesco. The performance in the China market has contributed to Cable&Wireless driving a top-line business growth rate of more than 40% in Asia Pacific in FY 2008-09.
