Career Oil Executive Cited as Best CFO in Thailand

BANGKOK, June 25, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, Alpha Southeast Asia revealed the results of their third annual poll to find Southeast Asia's top companies.  The awards are based on tallied votes among 473 investors, pension funds, hedge funds, equity and fixed income brokers and analysts with investment interests in the Southeast Asia region. Companies in each country were ranked on their financial management, adherence to corporate governance, CSR and investor relations' strategy, transparency and disclosure.

In Thailand, the seven companies most sought after among investors include stock exchange market mover, PTT Plc., along with its key subsidiaries PTTEP & Thai Oil, industrial giant Siam Cement Group, telecoms provider TAC, fast growing regional beverage giant, Thai Beverage, as well as global seafood exporter, Thai Union Frozen.

Strategy driven CFO Surong Bulakul, at PTT transpired as the Best CFO in Thailand.

Across the region, the award for the Strongest Commitment to Sustainable Energy in Southeast Asia once again went to Thai Oil for its clear, transparent and consistent CSR goals and aspirations. The award for the Best Annual Report in Southeast Asia went to Adaro Energy, an aspiring Indonesian mining giant in the making, while the award for Best CFO in Southeast Asia went to Kenny Kim, Group CFO at CIMB responsible for managing the financial resources of its growing regional footprint.

A key distinguishing feature of the poll is that it not only names investor favourites, but adventurously publishes names of companies that are perceived to have "Poor Management Access & IR" by this same group of investors. In Thailand, CP All, Toyo Thai and G Steel were noted for their poor and unpredictable investor relations' strategy.

• Best CFO in Thailand: Surong Bulakul, CFO, PTT
• Best Annual Report in Thailand: Thai Union Frozen
