This seminar occurred near the upcoming 15th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and South Korea. The Institute of Korean Culture Revitalization and the Centre of China Media Research jointly held this seminar in order to guide the development of both countries’ cultural industry and to explore the status and direction of new industries. The main content of the seminar included a look at the current situation, possible developments in the future, and the politics of South Korea’s new media industry.

Mr. Zhu insisted in his speech that in an era where Internet-enabled mobile phones are flourishing, mobile phones are no longer confined to being tools of voice communication. They are instead a new kind of media.

Cgogo mobile search was first born in China in 2004. Then in 2005 Cgogo mobile search was awarded the "Innovative Media" award in the first annual "China Media Innovation Festival" (also known as "The Awarding Ceremony of Innovative Media of 2005"). It was at this point in time that the first mobile media of the world was born.

With regards to 3G, Mr. Zhu feels that that mobile phone searches will become the core application of mobile data in the future, while WAP networks would become the main service of 3G. Mobile media needs to provide third generation search technology, different from the search engines of Baidu and Google. Meanwhile, search technology needs to separate the operations of the WAP network and Internet searching, to provide unique services for searching information, entertainment, geography and pictures. According to the Internet search market structure, these search technologies will be unified into a single search engine. In this way, users will not have to switch searching tools when looking for different levels of information in mobile searches.

The Institute of Korean Culture Revitalization deemed that the emergence of this new media formed a diverse cultural market, a market with a continuous expansion of cultural exchanges and the gradual integration of the cultural industry with the new media. A mutual understanding on new media is becoming a common concern of both countries.
