HARBIN, China, May 29 /Xinhua-PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- China Sky One Medical, Inc. (Amex: CSY) (“China Sky One Medical”, “CSY”), a manufacturer, marketer and distributor of pharmaceutical, medicinal and diagnostic products in China, today announced that it is donating external-use medicine worth a total of RMB 1,115,300 to Heilongjiang Foundation and Red Cross China for earthquake disaster relief efforts.

The management of China Sky One Medical has been very concerned with the disaster relief efforts ever since the earthquake struck Sichuan province on May 12, 2008. The earthquake led to significant loss of life and property. “As an entrepreneurial company, we have received a lot of support from the people and the surrounding communities over the years. It is our duty to do whatever we can to give back to the communities, especially during this difficult time,” said Mr. Yanqing Liu, Chairman and CEO of China Sky One Medical.

Since May 17th, all the medicine donated by the Company has been delivered to regions struck by the disaster by Heilongjiang Foundation and Red Cross China. The donations consisted primarily of medicine for the treatment of injuries due to contusion, sprains and fractures, the most common problems observed among the earthquake victims.

Since its inception, the Company has operated under the principal of “serving the people, managing with integrity.” Over the years, the Company, together with the surrounding communities, have faced and overcome numerous challenges. The total value that China Sky One Medical has donated to the communities since its founding is in excess of RMB 5 million, for causes ranging from disaster relief for the flood in 1998 to donations for the construction of schools, to donations to alleviate poverty and care for the elderly.

“We feel a strong sense of responsibility and believe all Chinese people should form a united front to combat the pain and suffering following this natural disaster. Going forward, we will not only donate medicine to help the victims in the regions affected by the earthquake, but we will also send healthcare professionals to the regions that were hit the hardest by earthquake and leverage our new biotechnology test kits to perform early diagnosis on victims,” concluded Mr. Liu.
