HONG KONG, Nov. 27, 2011 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- Chinachem Group collaborated with the Parents Resource for Visually Impaired Children of the Hong Kong Society for the Blind to launch the first fund-raising event -- 'Green Photo Charity Bazaar', in support of the Extra-curricular Activities Scholarship for Visually Impaired Students.

"Green Photo Charity Bazaar" is received with the excellent response from the community and over 100 photos have already been sold since the event launched.

The first 'Green Photo Charity Bazaar', organized by Chinachem Group and co-organized by the Hong Kong Society for the Blind was held at Nina Tower Shopping Mall on 27 November 2011 (Sun).  The photos of Green Photo Charity Bazaar originated from the entries of 'Green Hong Kong Photo Contest' and 'Green Hong Kong Photo Exhibition'.  Funds raised from the charity bazaar would be contributed to The Hong Kong Society for the Blind, in support of the Extra-curricular Activities Scholarship for Visually Impaired Students.

Ms. Molly Kung, Executive Director and Director of Marketing of Chinachem Group said, "'Green Photo Charity Bazaar' is a meaningful event that provides a golden opportunity to cultivate public awareness towards Hong Kong's natural beauty and benefit the visually impaired students.  We are very pleased to receive the excellent response from the community.  Over 100 photos have already been sold since the event launched."

Ms. Maureen Tam, Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Society for the Blind said, "Many visually impaired children cannot afford to join extra-curricular activities. We are delighted that Chinachem advocates the program, enabling more visually impaired children from low income families to receive an equal opportunity to participate in extra-curricular activities."

About 'We Love Green Hong Kong' Campaign

Chinachem Group has been launching 'We Love Green Hong Kong' Campaign for promoting sustainability in May 2011.  In addition to developing green buildings, Chinachem has sponsored the translation of Edward Stoke's Hong Kong Nature Landscapes, and donated over 500 copies of the Chinese edition, co-published by The Photographic Heritage Foundation and Chinachem Group, to all local secondary schools so that over 400,000 students can better appreciate the natural beauty of Hong Kong's country parks and be encouraged to help protect the environment.

Chinachem Group organized the first-ever Chinachem Charity Walk, in an unprecedented collaboration with the Sai Kung Community Centre on 23 October 2011. Over 900 people took part in the Charity Walk to explore a remote part of Sai Kung and experience an eco-tour that offered the public an opportunity to appreciate the natural heritage of Sai Kung and show their support for environmental protection.

The 'Green Hong Kong Photo Contest', the 'Green Hong Kong Photo Exhibition' and the 'Green Photo Charity Bazaar' are a series of the green events under 'We Love Green Hong Kong' campaign that leads the community in exploring, experiencing and cherishing Green Hong Kong.
