Citibank Becomes the First Foreign Bank in China to Sell Investment-linked Insurance Tailored to the Needs of Families for Sino-US MetLife

Young Saver Growth Protection Plan available in Beijing, Guangzhou and Shenzhen

BEIJING, Nov. 21 /Xinhua-PRNewswire/ -- Citibank (China) Co., Ltd. ("Citibank") and Sino-US MetLife today announced the launch of an RMB-denominated insurance offering in Beijing, Guangzhou and Shenzhen, the Young Saver Growth Protection Plan. This new product has been the first RMB-denominated investment-linked insurance with regular premium for children in these three cities and designed especially to meet the needs of Citibank customers.

The Young Saver Growth Protection Plan features long-term protection for children aged 30 days to 17 years old. It not only sets up traditional protection insurance account, but also is equipped with investment accounts. By investing this product, customers can both better prepare financially for their children's education and growth as well as safeguard them with life protection.

The new offering makes three investment accounts available to customers, namely "Money Market Portfolio", "Balanced Portfolio" and "Equity Portfolio", which customers can select from depending on their investment preference and risk preference. Customers can switch among different investment accounts according to their own preference, and adjust allocation among investment accounts for better investment returns. They also have the right to choose premium payment mode and period, and apply for partial withdrawal at any time.

The launch of Young Saver Growth Protection Plan forms important part of the "Citibank Junior Plan", one of Citibank's latest initiatives that aim to provide children with a head start in life so that they can grow and develop their future. Under this initiative, a series of programs have been created that are designed for the children of Citibank customers. More details on these programs will be made available soon.

The Young Saver Growth Protection Plan of MetLife was designed only for Citibank's clients, and also sold by Citibank.
