BEIJING, Oct. 16, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The China Outbound Conference 2014, organised by the China-Britain Business Council, will be held on Wednesday 22 October in Beijing.  The China Outbound Conference 2014 – one of the largest investment-related conferences between the two countries to have ever been held in China - has been specially designed to realise investment partnerships between British and Chinese companies around the world in a variety of sectors and showcase more than 40 high-quality UK investment opportunities suitable for Chinese investors.

China is now the third-largest outbound investor in the world. The country's overseas investment exceeded US$100 billion in 2013 and is currently growing at an average of 20 per cent per annum. The UK, with its open investment environment, sophisticated legal and policy framework and resurgent economy has seen a surge of investment from China to become the most popular destination in Europe for Chinese investors. In the first quarter of 2014, the value of Chinese investment and acquisitions in the UK exceeded US$4 billion – more than the total for all of 2013.

"At the China-Britain Business Council we know that Chinese investors are keen to know about concrete investment opportunities.  That is why, on the day, we will be showcasing more than 40 high-quality investment opportunities in the fields of regeneration, infrastructure and property, advanced technology and retail. We will also be launching a Chinese language website which will list a growing range of opportunities." said Stephen Phillips, Chief Executive of the China-Britain Business Council.

Mr Phillips also said that The China Outbound Conference 2014 is "a great opportunity for UK companies to find investment from China and identify partners to work together around the world.  And for Chinese companies they can meet in one place some of the UK's world class professional advisers who are so important to navigate the process of investing overseas."

Participants will hear from leading investors and experts who will share their first-hand experience of investing in the UK and working together with British partners all around the world.  The discussions will focus on real opportunities and real-world experience.

200 Chinese attendees will attend the conference, drawn from major state-owned enterprises, private businesses and listed companies. Some will have existing investment interests in the UK and be looking for further new, exciting opportunities, whilst others will have the intention to enter the British market and be looking to make useful connections.

Chinese investors will also be able to speak face-to-face on the day with those in charge of various UK investment opportunities. This will fast-track cooperation and help participants identify the right partner.

Speakers will include representatives from Bank of China, GNET, Shenzhen Mindray Bio-Medical Electronics Co., Ltd., Manchester Airport Group, China South Locomotive & Rolling Stock Corporation, Wanda Group, Greenland, Peel Holdings, Global Group, Geely, Chang'an Automobile, JNBY, Beijing Automotive Group, Zhuzhou CSR Times Electric Co.,Ltd., ARUP, Fosun, Huawei, Huntsworth, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Shandong Yongtai Chemical Group etc.
