Brokerage Uses State-of-the-Art Network to Launch Web-Based Wealth Management Services
BANGKOK, Thailand, April 12 /Xinhua-PRNewswire/ -- Datacraft, the region's leading independent IT services and solutions company, has completed a US$800,000 turnkey infrastructure project in Thailand for a start-up brokerage. To ensure that the newly implemented infrastructure operates at optimum levels, Datacraft is also providing pro-active support under a one-year Managed Services contract.
The brokerage wanted to launch a service that was differentiated from the transaction-oriented service offered by the retail investment industry in Thailand. In keeping with its strategy of employing technology to create customer service excellence, the brokerage launched a 'hi-tech/hi-touch' on-line portfolio management service that meets the sophisticated investment requirements of high net-worth individuals.

"This project was challenging because of the tight deadline and the sophisticated nature of the operations that the infrastructure needed to support from day one. The project entailed implementation, within 12 weeks, of a complete enterprise infrastructure capable of securely supporting on-line customer services. It includes trading-floor and office LANs, connections to the Stock Exchange of Thailand, the parent company and external information providers as well as a disaster recovery site and comprehensive security and network management systems.
To deliver a truly "total solution" to the brokerage, Datacraft designed and integrated a network that incorporates technologies from a wide range of vendors, including Cisco, Computer Associates, Hewlett Packard, Internet Security System (ISS), Juniper Networks, Network Appliance, Nokia, Packeteer, Symantec and TrendMicro.
The operational network has no single point of failure, thanks to fully-redundant network links and duplexing of all critical equipment including switches, routers and security devices. To ensure secure 7X24 operations, the brokerage has a separate "out-of-band" network to manage the key elements of its in-depth security architecture, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems and web content filters.
A Datacraft iBOSS management suite provides the brokerage with the automated tools to ensure network problems are pro-actively dealt with before they have a chance to impact customer service. Should a catastrophic event occur at the client's headquarters, on-line links to an off-site disaster recovery centre ensure that its investment portfolio records are fully protected.
