SINGAPORE, April 11, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Digicel today received confirmation from the Telecommunications Operator Tender Evaluation and Selection Committee that its pre-qualification application for one of the two new telecommunications licences in Myanmar has been successful.
As such, the Digicel consortium is cleared to participate in the final stage of the tender process for one of the two new nationwide telecommunications licences in Myanmar. With current mobile penetration below 10% in Myanmar, the Digicel consortium is committed to rolling out a world-class telecommunications network.

Responses to the invitation to tender are due on Monday 3rd June 2013 and an announcement of the two selected pre-qualified applicants that will lead to the award of the new licences is expected on 27th June 2013.
