NEW YORK, October 19, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Drexel Hamilton, LLC, a service-disabled veteran-owned broker-dealer, announced today that the firm will participate in a second consecutive Veterans Day "Charity Day" in support of America's veterans.

Building on the success of last year's event, Drexel Hamilton will donate a portion of its gross equities commissions on Friday, November 11 - Veterans Day - to one of three noble charitable organizations in support of disabled American veterans. A portion of all commissions generated will go to the Headstrong Project, the Lead The Way Fund, and Restoring Independence Supporting Empowerment.

"Drexel Hamilton is proud to once again partner with these great organizations that share our mission of serving our returning military heroes," said Lawrence K. Doll, Chairman and Founder of Drexel Hamilton, who is a service-disabled United States Marine Corps veteran and Purple Heart recipient. "We believe that we need to provide for those who have sacrificed for our country, and are thrilled to be able to contribute to these organizations."

Those wishing to participate in Drexel Hamilton's "Charity Day" can contact any sales representative or call the equity trading desk at 212-632-0403.

In 2015, Drexel Hamilton donated more than $60,000 to the Headstrong Project and the Lead The Way Fund as part of the firm's first "Charity Day" event.

The Headstrong Project, a veterans-serving-veterans organization, understands first-hand the hidden wounds of war. Through Headstrong's Operation Life Back, veterans receive care that is completely confidential, cost-free, and bureaucracy-free. Veterans work with specialists and clinicians to craft a course of treatment to address the effects of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

"Drexel Hamilton has long supported the Headstrong Project," said Doll. "PTSD is a serious, continuing problem for our veterans, and they provide a unique solution."

The Lead the Way Fund was founded by the Gold Star father of an Army Ranger and provides invaluable support to veterans. The Fund was established in honor of Sgt. James J. Regan, who was killed in Iraq on February 9, 2007, during his fourth deployment while serving with the Charlie Company, 3rd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment.

"We have a number of Army Rangers here at Drexel Hamilton, so we know first-hand the extreme circumstances facing those Rangers returning home," said Doll. "The Lead The Way Fund is doing tremendous work supporting those Rangers, and we're happy to partner with them for a second consecutive year."

R.I.S.E. - Restoring Independence Supporting Empowerment - was established by well-known actor Gary Sinise to provide disabled war heroes and their families with the resources needed to overcome their new life challenges. The Gary Sinise Foundation is committed to helping our wounded heroes increase their mobility and reclaim their self-reliance.

"Adding R.I.S.E. to the Charity Day was an easy decision to make," said Doll. "I recently met Gary Sinise and consider R.I.S.E. to be one of the most impressive advocates of America's service members."
