BEIJING, May 3, 2011 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- Mother's Day is just around the corner and ECPod will be launching the 'ECPod.com's China Mommy Bloggers Contest 2011' from 6-8 May 2011 to commemorate the occasion. According to ECPod, as of December 2010, there are approximately 23 million mommy bloggers in China and this number is growing every month.

Mommy bloggers in China are invited to write a short post entry on the blog to share their experiences about being a mommy blogger (in no more than 500 words).  Write your post header as "ECPod.com's China Mommy Bloggers Contest 2011" and submit your blog post URL to contact at ecpod.com between 6-8 May 2011.

Top 3 most original and unique posts will win prizes totaling up to CNY 6,888.

"I have been blogging for almost a year now about raising my son in Hong Kong, mainland China, and I have to say this is one of the most rewarding experiences I have ever had -- other than the actual parenting experience, of course.  Support in the form of thoughtful emails or comments from other mommies who've read my blog helps me do so much better. And at the end of the day that's what I want -- to get better and better at parenting," said Aileen who blogs at http://raisingrockstar.com

Putting information about your kids on the internet can however be scary. Privacy is certainly a big concern. "Yes, I do feel very strongly about protecting the privacy of your child on the internet. I recommend not disclosing his/her real name on the blog as a start," says Aileen. "As my blog popularity began to increase, so did my fears that I'm disclosing too much and providing fodder for bullies when my son gets older. In the end, the blog is supposed to facilitate and enhance my parenting experience, not increase the number of pitfalls. Keeping that perspective is everything to my mummy blog."
