HONG KONG and MACAU, Nov. 27, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- The top five finalist teams of the Degree and Sub-degree groups are shortlisted amongst 607 teams to compete for the championship at the ACCA Hong Kong Business Competition - Final Competitions to be held on 1 December (Degree) and 8 December (Sub-degree) with the theme to promote Hong Kong's creative industries.
Organised by ACCA (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) Hong Kong, the Business Competition aims to equip both full time accounting and business degree and sub-degree students with thorough analytical skills, business proposal writing skills, presentation skills and communication skills through working in a team environment in a real and interesting business situation.
After reviewing the participating teams' proposals, the top five finalist teams of each group have been selected to enter the Final Competitions. For the Degree Group, the finalist teams are from City University of Hong Kong, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and The University of Hong Kong.
For the Sub-degree Group, the finalist teams include students from Hong Kong College of Technology, Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (Kwun Tong), Hong Kong School of Commerce, The Chinese University of Hong Kong - School of Continuing & Professional Studies and The University of Hong Kong - SPACE.
This year ACCA Hong Kong has invited Create Hong Kong (CreateHK) of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region as the Partner Organisation. Each contesting team is required to simulate a non-profit making project that is conducive to the development of creative industries in Hong Kong for an institution/organisation and prepare a business proposal for this project to bid a sponsorship from CreateHK's CreateSmart Initiative (CSI). The CSI was launched in 2009 to provide financial support to initiatives that are conducive to the development of local creative industries.
The panel of judges comprises of finance leaders and creative industry experts will assess each contesting team according to the content of their business proposal, presentation skills and team work communication.
ACCA welcomes interested parties to attend the Final Competitions to support these outstanding students and appreciate their interesting ideas on promoting the development of creative industries in Hong Kong.

About Create Hong Kong
"Create Hong Kong" (CreateHK) is a dedicated office set up by the HKSAR Government to lead, champion and drive the development of the creative economy in Hong Kong.
