Company's Core Strengths include Efficient Solution Suites, Superior Customer Support and Astute Strategic Partnerships

LONDON, April 25, 2012 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- Based on its recent analysis of the trailer telematics industry, Frost & Sullivan recognises Novacom Europe with the 2011 Europe Frost & Sullivan Award for Market Share Leadership. The company's core strengths including efficient solution suites, superior customer support and astute strategic partnerships have paved the way for its success in the trailer telematics space.

"Novacom Europe does not merely compete with other vendors in the European trailer telematics market, instead it sets a benchmark by which the market is influenced, both in terms of technology and effectiveness," notes Frost & Sullivan Senior Research AnalystNiranjan Manohar. "This distinction has helped the company become the market share leader, serving approximately 20 - 22 per cent of trailer telematics subscribers in Europe."

Amidst a raft of smaller companies providing low-cost, basic track-and-trace solutions, Novacom Europe has been able to advance with a strong brand image. The primary reason is that, unlike Novacom Europe, no other trailer solutions provider has specialised in the logistics segment.

"Through its broad solution, using its proprietary DG 100 platform and CLS datacenter, Novacom Europe has been able to provide the much needed mix of applications such as asset dashboard/analytics, mileage readings for trailer fleet management and trailer diagnostics for the logistics industry," adds Manohar. "An enviable customer base, consisting of established logistics operators such as Schenker, DHL and DFDS, testifies to the efficiency of the company's solutions suite."

While a high degree of customer loyalty has emphasised the strength of Novacom's brand appeal, the company has further reinforced its brand perception through a joint venture between Novacom Services and GE Equipment Services. Their combined expertise yielded the highly successful Vwise solution.

"In addition to providing the regular security features such as trailer door open and close, zone management (pin code unlock), electronic braking systems (EBS) and controller area network (CAN) bus connection for load detection, Novacom's Veriwise solutions also offer unique security solutions, giving fleets direct access and visibility over their cargo," states Manohar.

Novacom Europe is the only trailer telematics service provider which is a member of the Transport Asset Protection Agency (TAPA) with their trucking security requirements (TSR). It also partners with third party security providers such as EUROWATCH to act at instant notification and escalate security related alarms, triggered for trailers with high value cargo.

"Such end-to-end cutting-edge trailer asset security has made Novacom the preferred choice of fleet managers," states Manohar. "The company's success in offering cost competitive, user-friendly web-based interface with standard and customised reporting, such as motion sensing and multi-mode coverage, has also positively influenced the perspective and purchase decisions of transport and logistics customers."

Another factor in Novacom Europe's stellar performance has been its partnership with Qualcomm for its untethered and cold chain solution in early 2011. Moreover, a successful partnership with Goodyear, EBTS and LDL technologies has resulted in the deployment of a telematics connected tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), enhanced with an active monitoring service improving control while supporting a 90 per cent reduction in tyre-associated roadside incidents.
