2013-09-25 00:37 5018

SEATTLE, September 25, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- This week, over 1,000 global stakeholders in the payment card industry (PCI) will attend the annual PCI Security Standards Council (SSC) North America Community Meeting. Ground Labs, the leaders in cardholder data discovery software for PCI compliance, is supporting this year's event in Las Vegas, Nevada and will participate in the Vendor Showcase.

The PCI Security Standards Council Community Meetings provide an opportunity to leverage each other's experience implementing the PCI Data Security Standards which include the PCI DSS and PCI PA-DSS. Participants also have opportunities to provide feedback on the Standards and learn about best practices for protecting cardholder data as they interact with key stakeholders from across the industry.

With offices in 3 continents, Ground Labs is one of the international sponsors of the upcoming Community Meeting. The company's flagship products, Card Recon and Enterprise Recon, identify data storage risks on thousands of computer systems worldwide, helping companies prevent security breaches that result in the theft of customers' credit and debit card numbers.

"Delivering the goal of keeping customer cardholder data safe to avoid becoming the next data breach headline is a challenge for any size organization," said Russell Poffenroth, Director of North America Corporate Development for Ground Labs. "The PCI SSC Community Meetings offers a unique opportunity to work closely with our global partners and enterprise merchants to gain invaluable feedback that leads to further product improvements which the entire industry can benefit from."

Card Recon and Enterprise Recon assist organisations in thoroughly identifying sensitive personally identifiable information (PII) in all types of data storage, including emails, databases, documents and various other locations. This process is a critical step toward achieving compliance with the PCI DSS.

The event will offer an opportunity for participants to meet a variety of vendors supporting the payment card industry and discuss the latest PCI DSS v3.0 that was recently released in draft by the council. As a participant in the Vendor Showcase, Ground Labs will provide live demonstrations of its Card Recon data discovery software for Qualified Security Assessors and of its Enterprise Recon software for large merchant organisations.

The 2013 North American Community Meeting will be held September 24-26 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. Similar Community Meetings will be held October 29-31 in Nice, France and November 20 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. As a global supporting vendor actively supporting the PCI Security Standards Council, Ground Labs will be exhibiting at all events.
