Honeywell Opens New Office in Xinjiang, China

A local business point at the country's new frontier of next wave of development

URUMQI, China, April 26, 2011 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- Honeywell (NYSE: HON)today announced the official opening of its first office in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, a new frontier for China's development strategy and home to vast natural resources and untapped business opportunities.

Located in downtown Urumqi, the capital city of Xinjiang, the new office will support multiple Honeywell businesses to bring innovative products and solutions to the region for a safer, more comfortable, more secure, and a more energy efficient environment. The new office will not only help Honeywell better serve its existing customers in Xinjiang, but also reach out to a growing customer base as the region gathers pace in economic growth and urbanization. More importantly, with this foot on the ground, Honeywell will be able to gain a more intimate understanding of the local market to better address its unique demands. Customers in Xinjiang and neighboring markets in Central Asia will also enjoy faster and easier access to Honeywell's technologies and services.

Xinjiang is expected to undergo significant transformation during the 12th Five-Year period, with tremendous growth opportunities in areas like infrastructure construction, energy generation and consumption, coal production, and public security.
