SHENZHEN, China, May 17 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- Huntkey Enterprise Group Testing Laboratory was awarded ErP (Energy-related Product) testing qualification authorization by Nemko, an EU certification authority recently. This is another new recognized authorization for the Huntkey testing lab following its authorizations by Energy Star and CEC testing qualification lab.
Being awarded ErP testing qualification authorization is a milestone for Huntkey lab development. Receiving accreditation will tremendously shorten the accreditation cycle of product R&D and accelerate the public listing of Huntkey energy-saving products. There will be no need for Huntkey to entrust an external third-party lab for product energy testing.
In keeping with measures for global energy conservation, different countries and regions are advocating using energy-saving products for environment preservation. This is the trend of industrial development in the future. Since April 26, 2010, the EU has pushed a new directive into forcible execution -- ErP after CE. Every electronic product must gain ErP certification before entering into the EU market. Nowadays, the ErP directives for power supply target external single rail output power supply products such as notebook adapters and chargers, and currently, a variety of Huntkey's products have already been certified by the ErP.

About ErP
The Directive 2009/125/EC for ErP (Energy-related-Products), also known as Eco-Design (It is a recast of Directive 2005/32/EC Previously called Energy Using Products, EuP), establishes a framework directive for the setting of eco-design requirements for all energy using products except in the transport sector. It also covers products outside the electrical area. The directive entered into force November, 2009, but it covers only products which have a detailed regulation (called Implementing Measure - IM). This directive is the most important initiative by the EU to improve energy efficiency by 20% by the year 2020.
