CHANGSHU, China, Oct. 14, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Continuing a consistent progression of expansion throughout the global automotive industry, leading automotive interiors supplier International Automotive Components (IAC) today celebrated the inauguration of two separate manufacturing facilities in Changshu, China: IAC Automotive Components (Changshu) Co., Ltd and Shanghai IAC-Songjiang Automotive Carpet and Acoustics Changshu. These manufacturing plants increase IAC's presence in Asia to 26 locations throughout the region.

The two new facilities establish 22,300 square meters of manufacturing for IAC, and they are expected to employ more than 540 skilled associates. The sites will manufacture much of IAC's product portfolio including instrument panels, cockpits, center consoles, floor carpet, and interior/exterior acoustic components. The two plants will supply to global and domestic Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) in China, as well export to IAC customers around the world.

"The IAC team is action-oriented, focusing its energy on providing exceptional design, engineering, manufacturing and a culture of relentless continuous improvement," said James Kamsickas, president and CEO of IAC.  "We are very excited to enter the Changshu region as another important step in IAC's consistent development of its global footprint."  IAC has expanded from 11 locations in 2006 to more than 100 locations around the world today.

IAC, the largest singularly focused supplier of automotive interiors in the world, is built on the core principles of exceptional design, engineering, and manufacturing driven by a culture of relentless continuous improvement.
