Jungheinrich Features Concept 08 Truck in the 2008 CeMAT Asia Exhibition

SHANGHAI, Dec. 24 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- Jungheinrich attended the 2008 CeMAT Asia exhibition from Oct. 27th to Oct 30th at Shanghai New International Expo Center. About 360 companies from 20 countries attended the exhibition. 44,696 professional visitors came to the exhibition during the four days. The show featured on energy efficiency and the improvement of life-cycle costs. Besides electric counterbalance trucks, reach trucks, and pallet trucks, Jungheinrich presented technology-leading ideas with the newest Jungheinrich developments in the Jungheinrich Concept 08 truck. The Concept 08 truck was also the highlight at the CeMAT Hannover Fair this year. The energy storage system of this truck is based on the use of lithium ion batteries. When compared to conventional lead batteries, lithium ion batteries are significantly more efficient, last twice as long, and are maintenance-free. And with approximately one-third of the volume and a quarter of the weight of traditional batteries, the truck itself can be more compact and lighter in weight. The advanced ergonomics in the Concept Truck would permit both forward and backward travel directions to be controlled with thumb movements, ensuring fatigue-free handling. In addition, a cushioned, noiseless chassis would afford the operator the novel sensation of "floating" with the truck -- rather than riding on it.
