KOREA FOOD SHOW 2015 Gets Underway in Seoul

SEOUL, South Korea, Sept. 10, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- KOREA FOOD SHOW 2015 got underway yesterday at aT Center, Yangjae-dong, Seoul. Running for four days until September 12, the show is organized by the Korea Agency of Education, Promotion and Information Service in Food, Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (EPIS) and expects to attract 230 food enterprises from all over Korea to participate.

Especially for this year, September 8 and 9 will be Business Days, where domestic and international buyers can meet for discussions. Exhibition, promotion and products sales will be open to the public starting 15:30 on September 9 until September 12.

There are nine exhibition halls in total: KOREA Masterpiece (1 & 2), Future Food, Mutual Cooperation, Halal Food, Power Brands, National Food Clusters, Food Industry Information, and Ancillary Events, which include displays, sales, buyer counseling, product shows, an international symposium, a food concert with celebrity chef Leo Kang, and free tasting samples.

The KOREA Masterpiece Sections display and sell traditional food from all over Korea. With the Korean holiday Chuseok just around the corner, there are products with distinct characteristics, such as traditional Korean liquor, Korean sweets, rice cakes and processed grains, all of which are available to sample and purchase onsite.

The Future Food Section is where people can experience the future of the food industry. Among other things the 70-year transition of the agrifood industry, recent domestic and international food consumption trends, advanced technology such as 3D food printers and insect food will be on show.

The Halal Food Hall presents 1-on-1 export counsels with Halal market buyers, to provide information about the market status, authentication processes and understanding of Halal Food, while the Mutual Cooperation Section displays superb quality products from companies built through food of farming and corporate partnership. There will be a contest and an awards ceremony that highlights ten excellent cases of mutual cooperation, including from China and Japan.

The National Food Cluster Section introduces the current status of National Food Cluster that is planned to be completed at the end of 2016, the Food Industry Information Section provides statistics about the food industry that agrifood and exporting companies need and the Power Brand Section displays products of Agrifood Power Brand winners.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural affairs, KOREA FOOD SHOW 2015 aims to deliver Korea's new growth engines and developmental strategy.
