HONG KONG, May 4, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- To celebrate the upcoming Mother's Day, Sino Club organised the event Mama... I Love You @ Sino Club at Kowloon Bay's Skyline Tower. Over 100 Sino Club members and participants from Hong Kong Single Parents Association gathered for a fun day of children opera performances, green workshops and eco-activities to honour the great efforts of mothers, as well as striving for harmony across generations. Sino Club was recently named in March 2015 a "Caring Company" by the Hong Kong Council of Social Service.

The event decor featured a garden with colourful, blossoming flowers, green lawns and hedge-shaped cakes arranged like hearts. This invited participants to snapshot and share their memories over online social media platforms. Amongst the activities offered on the day included a rose-making workshop by Richmond Fellowship of Hong Kong through upcycling egg cartons to become pleasing bouquets for mums. There were gardening tips-sharing from the members of Hong Chi Association, a relaxation and care corner from Hong Kong YWCA Serenity Wellness and Massage Centre and tea appreciation session to complement the afternoon tea snacks from Hong Kong Gold Coast Hotel.

On the occasion, Sino Club invited award-winning young talents aged from 5 to 10 from Sing Fai Cantonese Opera Promotion Association to perform well-known scenes from the Cantonese opera repertoire. This young cast captivated the audience, bringing awe to everyone with their stage craft. Junior Sino Club members also had a chance to learn, on-the-spot, the basics of the culture rich Cantonese opera.

Since 2014, Sino Club has been actively engaging its members to donate tinned and packaged foods to the aged and families-in-need through the local food banks, Food Angel and Feeding Hong Kong. Sino Club members and their families responded to this meaningful call, bringing with them food donations to express their utmost care for the community.

Sino Group demonstrates its corporate social responsibility through four key pillars -- Sino Green, Sino Care, Sino Art and Sino Heritage. Sino Group has been awarded the "10 Years Plus Caring Company Logo" by the Hong Kong Council of Social Service for 12 consecutive years since 2003 in recognition of its continuous commitment to community, green and art activities.

In 2009, Skyline Tower launched the "Mission Green Top" initiative in collaboration with the Hong Chi Association to organically grow plants and vegetables in the rooftop garden maintained by Hong Chi trainees. Regular sales of the garden's harvest are held. The project not only promotes a greener environment in office towers, but also provides employment opportunities to people with intellectual disabilities, and therefore won the "Partnership Project Award" of "Caring Company" organised by The Hong Kong Council of Social Service and the "Hong Kong Awards for Environmental Excellence, Sectoral Awards (Property Management) -- Silver Award" in 2010.
