unit of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX), won South Korea’
s "Environment, Safety and Health Value Management Award," one of many
accolades Otis has received for its commitment to environment-friendly
products and leadership in setting standards in the fields of environment,
health and safety.
The latest award was presented during the South Korean government’s
National Assembly. Supported by the government, the award was sponsored by
the Environment Action Association and Hankyung Business, South Korea’s
leading weekly business publication.

Otis has won numerous environmental awards. They include the "Korea Green
Management Excellence Award" in 2006 for the Gen2 elevator. Also in 2006,
Otis’ Gen2 elevator was recognized as one of China’s "Top 10 Architectural
Science and Technology Achievements," the most prestigious award in China’s
construction industry, and was named one of Spain’s "100 best ideas" in the
social responsibility category by that country’s leading business magazine,
Actualidad Economica. In 2005, Otis was the first elevator company to receive
the "Green Product Award" from the China Environmental Protection Foundation,
a non-government group dedicated to protecting the environment.
