MOU Between PacNet and iCELL Network to Provide Users Seamless Internet Access Through Singapore's National Wireless Access Initiative

SINGAPORE, Jan. 16 /Xinhua-PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Pacific Internet Limited (Nasdaq: PCNTF) (PacNet), the largest telco-independent Internet communications service provider by geographic reach in the Asia-Pacific, will create even more interest in Wireless@SG, an island-wide wireless broadband access initiative in Singapore, from PacNet customers through a partnership signed in a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with iCELL Network Pte Ltd, one of the three service providers to the initiative.

The MOU seals a tie-up that will allow all Pacific Internet subscribers to have free wireless connectivity to the Internet at public hotspots with speeds up to 512kbps. Plus, customers will not need to register for an account with any of the Wireless@SG operators as this will be done automatically for them with their consent. This service will be made available from end-January 2007.

"As a pioneering ISP in the region, PacNet is proud to continue finding innovative ways for how to access the Internet to our customers. Our collaboration with iCELL allows our customers to enjoy this experience by accessing the Wireless@SG network free-of-charge. They now have more choices on how and where they want to connect to the Internet. Over the coming months, we plan to expand this experience through a wider-scale wireless broadband service with innovative applications and communications solutions," said Mr Kevin Lim, Managing Director, Pacific Internet Singapore.

By September 2007, the number of hotspots will increase to 5,000, giving PacNet users the opportunity to surf seamlessly. To connect to the Wireless@SG wireless broadband network, a user just needs a WiFi-enabled device, such as a laptop computer or a PDA and a web browser.

iCELL Network Pte Ltd Chief Executive Officer, Mr Ken Chua, said, "We are very honoured to provide PacNet Internet users the ability to be connected anytime anywhere. PacNet Internet users will also be able to enjoy the same privileges offered to iCELL's subscribers. We are committed to enhancing connectivity in Singapore in 2007 and beyond."

Pacific Internet subscribers can also rely on our superior technical support and assistance should they encounter technical problems when they access the Internet or when they use broadband services.

Pacific Internet customers who are currently on the premium Wireless@hotspots plan may continue to login at the various WiFi hotspots using either the <@pacnet> or <@pacific.net.sg> domain names to enjoy the service. The charges will remain at the prevailing rates until further notice.

Mr Phey Teck Moh, President and Chief Executive Officer, Pacific Internet Limited, said, " As the largest telco-independent Internet communications services provider in the region, PacNet is focused on delivering good value to our customers. This initiative is very much part of our Group's regional strategic plan to bring the full benefits of wireless access to our customers. Beyond Singapore, PacNet is currently exploring opportunities in the region to obtain licenses to test and implement wireless broadband services."
