“According to the PacNet IP Index Hong Kong 2006, a survey on Hong Kong business Internet user behaviour, it was revealed that 68 per cent of enterprises believe that Internet service providers (ISPs) and the government should play a major role in technology development and training. Enterprises are longing for a centralised information resource to facilitate business decision making, as such resources are rare in Hong Kong. As the leading ICSP in the Asia Pacific region, Pacific Internet Hong Kong is stepping up to the role to build up a centralised Market Information Centre, that aims to educate and communicate with enterprises on various aspects,” said Eddy Kuk, Managing Director of Pacific Internet Hong Kong.

The MIC covers a selection of information from four areas, namely, Internet Statistics, IT Security Insights, IT & Technology Solution Trends from Hong Kong, and market information from the Asia Pacific region. Information from these areas is essential for enterprises to enhance their business strategies and to help them stay at ahead of their competition. The content of the MIC will be enriched periodically with the addition of new information that will be relevant and helpful to enterprises that run businesses in Hong Kong and in the region.

Mr. Phey Teck-Moh, President and Chief Executive Officer of Pacific Internet Limited, welcomed the launch. He said, “The launch of the MIC, the first centralised IT information resource in Hong Kong, underpins Pacific Internet’s commitment of creating value and driving new initiatives that benefit enterprises. Our customers’ success is our success, as we continually strive to serve them in the best possible way. This is a manifestation of our mission of “Connecting Minds. Connecting Business.”
