For Formulation of Professional Strategies Tailored for The China Market

HONG KONG, July 25 /Xinhua-PRNewswire/ -- The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors ("RICS") announces the formation of a new Board for RICS China. Nominations for positions on the new Board will be sought from the RICS membership in the China region (excluding Hong Kong SAR and Taiwan).

The China Board would comprise fifteen (15) members (including a Chairman, Vice-Chairman and Honorary Secretary) elected by postal ballot of all Members, up to five (5) co-otped members and one representative of the Junior or matRICS group. Nominations for election of the Chairman, Vice Chairman, Honorary Secretary and the other elected members will be sought in the usual way by 15 August 2007.

Mr. Darren Jensen, Director of RICS Asia Pacific, said: "The Board will involve in planning and monitoring of policies, programmes, budget and financial allocation for RICS China.Members of the Board will meet regularly on a quarterly basis. The establishment of RICS China will definitely help our development in China and gives further voice to all RICS members in China. I hope to see members actively participating in this coming election."
