Selected in the NVIDIA inception Program, Chinese autonomous Startup TuSimple's debut at GTC aroused attention

SAN JOSE, Calif., May 18, 2017 /PRNewswire/ --The 2017 GPU Technology Conference (GTC) hosted by NVIDIA was held on May 8 - 11 at the San Jose Convention Center, San Jose, California. TuSimple, the partner of GTC and a representative of autonomous driving technology companies, was invited to the conference and was mentioned multiple times by INVIDIA's CEO Jensen Huang and Managing Director of Amazon Web Services (AWS) Matt Wood in a keynote speech with over 5000 participants.

For the previous GTC, Jensen Huang's keynote speech has always been the highlight of not only the conference but the capital market and the technology media. This year is no exception. During Jensen Huang's speech, NVIDIA's share rose by 17%, which has become a favorite industrial tale.

Jensen Huang mentioned in his keynote speech that NVIDIA had initiated the NVIDIA Inception Program, and they were making contact with 1300 start-up AI companies in each vertical fields, aiming to give the program's participants an opportunity to make breakthrough in deep learning and data science with the advantage of NVIDIA' technology. The media generally agreed that this program is of great significance, while accelerating the process of development of artificial intelligence for startups, it also enriches NVIDIA's AI network.

Jensen Huang selected dozens of enterprises as the representatives of the member of the NVIDIA Inception Program in his PPT. TuSimple, as a start-up company focusing on autonomous truck driving technology, was on the list.

During Jensen's keynote, he interviewed AWS's Managing Director Matt Wood on stage. During their interview, Wood mentioned TuSimple, the only driverless technology representative that uses AWS's products. Wood was appreciative of the partnership with TuSimple, the representative of cutting-edge technologies.

Mentioned by the two giants of the industry, TuSimple's booth at GTC2017 caused a sensation. At GTC, TuSimple showed its self-driving truck solution on computer vision and millimeter-wave radar technologies, and played test videos filmed at its California division, which received great feedback from the audience.

Last year, TuSimple broke ten records in KITTI and Cityscapes, the most influential algorithm datasets in autonomous driving.

TuSimple is going to test Level 2 autonomous trucks this June in Arizona, and a port city of Hebei province in China respectively. In September, TuSimple's Level 4 self-driving trucks will be tested on China's express way, and by late December, commercial transportation test will be performed for the first time.

At this GTC, computer vision expert, TuSimple's CTO Hou Xiaodi, was invited to host a session. Hou, during his session, released TuSimple's self-driving testing data. In addition, Hou Xiaodi accepted GTC organizing committee's exclusive interview on the matter of TuSimple's becoming member enterprise of the NVIDIA Inception Program.
