Senior Citizen Home Safety Association Hosts The 15th Anniversary Cocktail cum The Opening Ceremony of the 1stAsia Pacific eCare and Telecare Congress

HONG KONG, June 17, 2011 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- To celebrate the 15th anniversary, Senior Citizen Home Safety Association (SCHSA) held The 15th Anniversary Cocktail cum The Opening Ceremony of the 1st Asia Pacific eCare and Telecare Congress at Cyberport 3 in the afternoon of today. SCHSA was honored to have The Hon Mr. Henry TANG, GBM,GBS,JP,acting Chief Executive of the Hong Kong SAR, as the Guest of Honor, to officiate at the opening ceremony and witness the launch of new logos and the important milestone of shortening its Chinese name.

Other honorable guests included The Hon Mr. Albert CHENG, GBS, JP, the Founder cum Chairman of Executive Committee; The Hon Dr. Law Chi Kwong, SBS, JP, one of the founders of SCHSA; The Hon Mr. Peter Nip, the former Chairman of Executive Committee; The Hon Mr. KWOK Lit Tung, JP,the Chairman of Conference Committee of the 1st Asia Pacific eCare and Telecare Congress; and The Hon Dr. Donald K. T. LI, JP, Steward of The Hong Kong Jockey Club, to join hands at the opening ceremony. There were more than 300 guests attended in this commemorative event.

To commemorate the special day of the 15th anniversary of SCHSA,Mr. Albert CHENG showed the founding history and development of SCHSA through the display panels at the time tunnel. Guests witnessed the concentric concept and continuous innovation of SCHSA and its progress on developing into one of the most successful social enterprises in Hong Kong.

SCHSA initiated to hold the 1st Asia Pacific eCare and Telecare Congress from 16th to 19th June, 2011 in Hong Kong. Through a number of conference discussions, group seminars and trade exhibitions, industry professionals, equipment service providers, scholars, governmental and social welfare organizations and stakeholders exchange and share experience around the elderly and professional knowledge to get more information on recent trends of eCare and Telecare development, creative technology service application, and the management and strategy of service operation for the sake of promoting and enhancing the "Mobile Link" service and quality.

Senior Citizen Home Safety Association (SCHSA) was founded by a group of passionate citizens in 1996 in response to a tragic incident in which more than one hundred elderly citizens living alone were found unattended deaths during an unexpected cold spell. SCHSA is the only non-profit-making charitable organization in Hong Kong that offers 24-hour Personal Emergency (PE) Link Service for elderly citizens and people in need. In response to the future growth, SCHSA will shorten its Chinese name, effective on 16th June, 2011, and present a brand-new image to the community.
