"We are continuously looking to provide a holistic platform for the exchange of green ideas that will engage our visitors. We are honored that MCE is partnering with us for their first foray outside of Italy. Greening in the HVAC industry has received huge amounts of attention over the last couple of years, and this is the opportune time to steer the conversation to ideas of sustainability. We hope that through creating conversations on this topic, we are encouraging companies that have the ability and technology to share their experience and solutions," said Louise Chua, Project Director of BEX Asia 2015 and MCE Asia 2015.
Walking the Green talk
The effects of climate change in Singapore are evident in its bouts of high temperatures as well as erratic thunderstorms. 2014 also saw the month that Singapore experienced its longest dry spell[2]. In the face of coping with more extreme temperatures and weather, there has been an increasing emphasis on energy-efficient chillers. The wide adoption of this technology, along with other green building features, saw an average of 25-30% energy savings in 2013. [3]
"In keeping up with urban planning and development, green building technology needs to be well-rounded, and be able to meet current and future needs of the community," said Chua. "This requires constant innovation from developers, and every player plays a part in helping the green industry move forward."
"In 2015 alone, we have experienced a series of blistering heat waves in Singapore and around the world. The demand for heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) equipment is set to grow exponentially," said Samuel Castrejon, International Sales Manager of Sumner Manufacturing, one of the exhibitors this year. "We have a responsibility to develop environmentally-friendly solutions to ensure that we do not further contribute to greenhouse gas emission and global warming. Through a platform like MCE Asia, it helps facilitate a global exchange of ideas and solutions, helping companies reduce their carbon footprint on the earth."
