Position in capital markets to be further strengthened
HONG KONG, March 8 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- TCL Multimedia Technology Holdings Limited ("TCL Multimedia", or the "Group", Stock code: 01070) today announced that the Group will be included in the Hang Seng Composite Index, the Hang Seng Composite Industry Index - Consumer Goods and the Hang Seng Composite SmallCap Index effective from 8 March 2010. This reflects the Group's outstanding operating performance, which has been long appreciated by investors.
According to an index review by Hang Seng Indexes Company Limited, the total number of Hang Seng Composite Index constituents will be adjusted to 309. The average market value coverage ratio for the 12 months ended December 2009 would have become 91.18%. Stocks can be included in the index if they pass the turnover screening and their 12-month average market capitalization is amongst the top 95% of the total market capitalization.
As one of the largest TV manufacturers globally, TCL Multimedia strives to maintain its highly efficient operations and a solid financial position. In 2009, the Group was the fifth largest TV manufacturer globally by market share, and has held the largest market share in the PRC for six consecutive years. year-on-year to 4.63 million units. The growth rate far exceeded the market average.
