TIANJIN, China, Dec. 7 /Xinhua-PRNewswire/ -- Tianjin Economic-
Technological Development Area announced today that in order to create a
favorable environment for conferences and exhibitions and to promote the
growth of various industries in TEDA by converging the flow of information,
technology, capital, commodities, and human resources that come with them,
TEDA is to introduce encouraging measures designed to promote the development
of conferences and exhibitions in the area under the title “Interim
Provisions of Tianjin Economic-Technological Development Area on Promoting
the Development of the Modern Service Sector”.

Through the policy TEDA plans to give venue rental support to organizers
of both brand-name exhibitions and professional exhibitions that are held in
TEDA. Brand-name exhibitions refer to those held by exhibitions that are
recognized or authenticated by the UFI or those with at least 300 standard
booths and a certain ratio between international exhibitors and visitors.
Professional exhibitions refer to those involving specific industrial fields,
such as electronic information, auto and machinery manufacturing,
biomedicines, new energy, new materials and circular economy.
The policy also states that the newly established professional exhibition
companies and exhibition service companies will be granted certain financial
support for five years after their founding in reference to their actual
economic contributions, including their income tax and business tax.
Meanwhile, TEDA has also established a unified work team for conferences
and exhibitions with a view to setting up a cross-department coordination
mechanism so as to stabilize the personnel structure, improve efficiency,
simplify procedures and fulfill various supportive jobs successfully.

Tianjin Economic-Technological Development Area (TEDA) was established in
1984 with the approval of the State Council of the People's Republic of
China. It is one of the first state-class economic-technological development
areas in the country.
