TI Automotive Breaks Ground on New Facility in China

  • New facility in Qinhuangdao will produce brake and fuel lines for Asian market

AUBURN HILLS, Mich., March 11, 2011 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- TI Automotive - a leading global supplier of fluid storage, carrying and delivery technology - recently broke ground on a new facility in Qinhuangdao, Hebei Province, China. The 250,000-square-foot facility, which is the company's eighth location in China, will produce single- and double-walled, anti-corrosion-coated steel tubing to serve the Asian automobile market.

TI Automotive commenced business operations in China in 1979 by importing products to support the country's emerging auto industry. In 1987, the company opened its first facility in China and has since established itself as a leading supplier of brake and fuel lines, fuel modules, plastic fuel tanks and automobile air conditioning components to all of the major Chinese OEMs.

The Qinhuangdao facility employs approximately 350 people and will primarily service customers in Australia, China, India, Indonesia, Korea and Thailand.
