Participants of competency-based training programmes to use latest global retail technology

Wincor Nixdorf, a global provider of IT solutions to the retail and banking industries, has teamed up with Singapore Institute of Retail Studies (SIRS) to upgrade the skills of Singapore’s retail professionals by supplying modern checkout technology to help train course participants.
Wincor Nixdorf has contributed 21 units of its new BEETLE /mini POS systems to the newly revamped Retail Lab at SIRS and prepared more than 20 trainers at SIRS since March 2011 on the operations of the POS system and associated software. Armed with the latest operating procedures of POS systems, the trainers will support course participants of the Certificate of Retail Operations programme to enhance their knowledge of checkout operations and customer service.
The course participants are primarily frontline service staff such as retail assistants and cashiers. The training is designed to equip participants with comprehensive knowledge of using a POS system and associated software to speed transactions and enhance productivity at the checkout zone.
