Taobao ( http://www.taobao.com ), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Alibaba Group, is the largest consumer e-commerce website in Asia with approximately 170 million registered users, and represents 80% of the e-commerce market share in China as of the end of 2009. Since its launch in May 2003, Taobao has become China's leading C2C and B2C marketplace through its Bazaar and Mall segments, surpassing competitors on all key metrics, including website traffic, active users, product listings, and transaction volume. By opening an online store on the "Mall" of Taobao.com, which is a B2C section for high-end and well-known brands, Winner will leverage the website's well-established customer base to market and distribute its PurCotton(R) products throughout China. In addition, Winner will participate in Taobao Mall special promotions, which reward consumers with free products once they achieve specified spending thresholds. Winner will also offer discounts on certain products during certain time periods, plans to setup a product trial center in its online store, and will mail out free samples to consumers, in an effort to drive traffic to its online store and to further build brand awareness of its PurCotton(R) products.
PurCotton(R) promotes medical grade, 100% cotton products for daily use and the concept that utilizing these high quality products will improve the users' everyday life. The main distribution channels include chain stores (PurCotton(R) stores), on-line sales, supermarkets and wholesales to large customers. This is the Company's first initiative to establish PurCotton(R) business-to-consumer online stores in order to address the consumer's evolving shopping preferences. The Company is also planning to build its own B2C trading website that will be co-branded through its retail stores, in addition to other online mediums to reach a much broader customer base throughout China.
