Yongye International Announces Public Offering of Common Stock

BEIJING, Dec. 17 /PRNewswire-Asia-FirstCall/ -- Yongye International, Inc. (Nasdaq: YONG), ("Yongye" or "the Company") a leading developer, manufacturer, and distributor of Shengmingsu brand plant and animal nutrient products in the People's Republic of China (PRC), today announced that the Company has commenced a registered public offering of shares of its common stock pursuant to its existing shelf registration statement (333-163388) under the Securities Act of 1933. The Company also intends to grant the underwriters of the offering an option to purchase additional shares of common stock to cover over-allotments, if any, exercisable up to 30 days from the closing of the offering.

Roth Capital Partners, LLC and Oppenheimer & Co. Inc. are acting as joint book-running managers for the offering. The offering is expected to close on or about December 22, 2009, subject to the satisfaction of customary closing conditions, including the receipt of all necessary regulatory and stock exchange approvals.
