2011-08-01 20:48 1256

BEIJING and CHANGGE, China, August 1, 2011 /PRNewswire-Asia-FirstCall/ -- Zhongpin Inc. ("Zhongpin", Nasdaq: HOGS), a leading meat and food processing company in the People's Republic of China, today summarized the results of its successful investor-chosen tour on July 29 that visited 9 authorized retailers of Zhongpin pork products in greater Shanghai.

To start the tour, using a geographic list of all the retailers of Zhongpin products in greater Shanghai, the 18 investors, fund managers, and sell-side analysts were able to select at random the stores to visit. To maximize the number of locations visited, they chose to concentrate on the Pudong, Huangpu and Yangpu districts of Shanghai. Participants selected independently owned stores that are authorized retailers of Zhongpin chilled pork products and each store was located in a community marketplace similar to a permanent "farmer's market." The participants were accompanied by Mr. Sterling Song, Zhongpin's Investor Relations Manager, and Zhongpin's Shanghai sales team. The tour began at 8:30 a.m. and ended about 5:00 p.m.

At each location, the tour group verified the store's existence and location, saw the coolers that displayed Zhongpin's pork products and Zhongpin branding, and talked with the retailers. The participants thanked Zhongpin for hosting the tour, and were pleased with the results.
