'Tea and the World' International Conference Held in Xinyang

BEIJING, April 29 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- More than 100 years ago, aristocrats and businessmen from China and more than 23 countries discovered a paradise and constructed more than 500 different-styled villas there. This is Xinyang, Henan Province, the Jigongshan, or "herald" of China, a world-class destination for leisure and recreation.

On April 28, 2010, participants from 36 countries gathered in Xinyang for China's "Tea and World" Summit Forum. This summit covered topics such as "tea and world culture fusion," "tea and the tourism economy," "the tea industry and low-carbon industry," "tea culture and keeping in good health," "tea and etiquette," "the tea industry and international cooperation," among others.

Participants and VIP guests were invited to attend this Forum, which included officials from the International Tea Commission, the United Nations Food and Agriculture Group, the International Tourism Marketing Association, the American Tea Association, the Indonesian Tea Association and China, along with dignitaries, celebrities, experts, journalists and others from 36 countries including Sri Lanka, Turkey, Bangladesh, Cote d'Ivoire and Nepal.

The objective of the forum is to establish a cooperation platform for the world's major tea producing and consuming countries, spread tea culture, promote the tea economy and push global tea careers. With the aid of forum's influence and international marketing strength, this "Chinese Jigongshan" will be made into a mountain leisure resort and international conference center of international influence.
