Chartboost Lands in Asia with Strong Expansion Partners

The Direct-Deal Marketplace will be localized for Japan, Korea and China in both Android and iOS

SAN FRANCISCO, Jan. 18, 2012 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- Chartboost announced today that it will expand into the Asia Pacific region with dedicated operations, customer support and language-specific versions of its direct-deal advertising marketplace platform. The company started today with rolling out localized versions of its website in Chinese, Japanese and Korean.

Chartboost offers a marketplace for mobile game publishers to do advertising deals directly with each other, avoiding having to share 50 percent of their revenues with ad networks. The company has been working with leading game developers with strong presence in Asia, such as Animoca (Hong Kong), Com2US, Nexon Mobile and Devsisters (South Korea) as well as leading U.S. developers such as TinyCo, Pocket Gems and Storm8.

The Chartboost platform enables game publishers to more effectively monetize their Android and iOS apps through customizable, white-label, full-screen interstitials that promote other games that may interest users. These interstitials become an attractive game suggestion and are not perceived as ads.

"Having worked with game publishers that have a strong presence in Asia, we've experimented how growing markets offer better performances, huge volumes and great monetization opportunities. We are thrilled to open new partner opportunities there," said Maria Alegre, co‑founder and CEO of Chartboost. "At the same time, many Chinese, Japanese and Korean game publishers are looking to acquire U.S. traffic, and they can now do that in a much easier way through Chartboost's Direct-Deal Marketplace."

Chartboost's investors include SK Telecom Ventures, the investment arm of the wireless telecommunications giant in South Korea, and TransLink Capital, a U.S.-based venture capital with strong connections in Japan, Korea and Greater China.
