"Working closely with Habitat for Humanity is our way of living Cigna's mission to improve the health, well-being and a sense of security for all those we serve," said Ken Vaughan, senior vice president of healthcare products for CIGNA & CMC. "We recognize that we need to help build the foundation for health and quality of life, and a key component of that is a secure and safe place to live."

Volunteers from Cigna Global Health Benefits and CIGNA & CMC, including Vaughan and Andrew Kielty, president, Cigna Global Health Benefits, joined the program to make safe and age-friendly homes available for one elderly family in Minhang District, Shanghai, China. The day started in the early morning and continued through the afternoon as the team painted the home and changed the lives of a family in need. "Closely working with Habitat for Humanity ties the partnership of our company and our employees with the communities where we live and work," said Kielty.

CIGNA & CMC, through the Cigna Foundation, contributed funds in the amount of $22,500 for three projects with the Shanghai chapter of Habitat for Humanity China; employees will continue to serve as volunteers for these projects. "As Cigna strengthens its global presence, we're excited to have an opportunity to make the Cigna Foundation a greater global force for good. We want the community to know that Cigna is committed to serving our communities," said Gianna Jackson, executive Director of the Cigna Foundation.
