Foodpanda aims to take Malaysian food delivery by storm

KUALA LUMPUR, July 2, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- foodpanda, the global mobile food delivery marketplace today appointed Mr. Joon Chan and Mr. Uffe Jordan as the managing directors of foodpanda Malaysia.

Joon Chan is a seasoned entrepreneur and executor. After building skill sets in the Venture Capital industry, he has founded 2 regional startups and consulted for many across South East Asia for the renowned Rocket Internet. Joon sincerely believes that great companies are built daily through hard work and daily calculated execution.

Being the major player in the market, Joon Chan is focused on improving the overall delivery experience of customers. "Our main goal is to be the best food delivery service in Malaysia and we will only strive to be the best", says Joon.

On the other hand, Uffe Jordan holds a Master of Science in Finance and Accounting from Copenhagen Business School. He worked more than five years for a Danish private equity firm before joining foodpanda Malaysia.

Uffe believes that there is still room for foodpanda Malaysia to grow. He will be growing the melting pot of restaurants on foodpanda, especially Malaysian favorites with an emphasis of quality over quantity.

Together with the last funding of USD 100 Million, foodpanda has now raised over USD 310 Million since its launch in 2012. After acquiring key competitors in India, Mexico, Russia, Brazil, Eastern Europe and South-East Asia, the company will use the recent investment to further expand its own delivery activities and improve overall customer experience across its 40 markets.
