Live on site, with the invitation of Borgward, car owners, distributors, suppliers, Borgward employees and friends from the media all gathered to witness this moment of glory. The car brand Borgward was founded in 1919 by German engineer Carl Borgward. Going back to the Brand Revival Plan in 2005, to the production of 100,000th car, Borgward is well poised to be a rising star in the world's automobile community.
As an important achievement of the Sino-German cooperation in the field of smart manufacturing, the Borgward Factory was selected to be the "Pilot Demonstration Project of the 2017 Sino-German Cooperation on Smart Manufacturing". The factory fully incorporates the philosophy behind the German-led initiative "Industry 4.0", and it sits on the mighty smart manufacturing system that follows three philosophies for manufacturing: flexible, precise and rigorous. Consequently, consumers are provided with high-quality cars. The 8-model flexible production line is the robust foundation enabling Borgward to produce 100,000 cars in just two years, while the in-house Borgward inspection rate of 100% demonstrates their pursuit of quality.
Besides showcasing its powerful smart manufacturing system and rigorous manufacturing process, the Borgward Factory also invited guests to personally feel the dual "sense of safety" delivered to consumers, namely from dimensions of both time and space. More specifically, in terms of time, the 16 electronic security configurations on the whole series of vehicles will be able to provide all-time protection, paired with the 4 MAX smart full-time all-wheel-drive system, which enables instantaneous response to various road conditions within 0.12 seconds. Borgward vehicles provide a safe driving experience. Provided an accident occurs, it takes only 1.6 seconds for the airbag to pop out and for Borgward Rescue Call to be dialed via ECALL, the call can be performed even when the vehicle is powered off.
In terms of space, the high-strength steel covers as much as 79% of the entire vehicle body, and 1500 Mpa ultra high-strength steel is used in the strengthened A and B-pillar steel plates and the front anti-collision beam. By using high-performing materials such as double-sided galvanized steel plates with 12 year anti-corrosion and integrated vehicle doors, the vehicle body can not only improve its anti-corrosion performance, but also increase its rigidity by over 30%. What's more, the formaldehyde concentration of air in-car is as low as 0.02g/m3, only 1/4 of the German standard.
