From ilab's first Germinate accelerator participant Veilability, Australia's premium online wedding planning service, to the 100th, Redback Technologies, who are disrupting the energy market by giving households affordable control of their stored solar power, ilab have partnered with 100's of new founders from Brisbane and regional Queensland.

Phil Livingston, Redback Technologies Managing Director, shares his experience,"ilab gives us that passionate, connected and entrepreneurial environment that really helps us establish the innovative company culture we need. It is a place where we can build a serious global business."

Kristy Ouwerkerk, Veilability CEO: "Being part of ilab's very first accelerator was a tremendous kick start to my business.  As an ilab alumni, it is incredibly valuable to have that continued access to ilab and ilab's alumni to share my challenges, get feedback, ask questions and attend events."

"With our 100 startups, ilab has generated a depth of knowledge about what it really takes to create a successful startup" says Bernie Woodcroft, ilab's Director.  "We have a profound respect for all of our alumni, and have been absolutely privileged to share their journeys and bring our experience and networks to guide and connect them to fast track their startup journeys."

So who is the ideal founder? "ilab founders have come from all walks of life - from students to parents, corporate escapees, researchers, designers, builders...It is what founders bring that counts - passion, determination, capability, teamwork, market insight coupled with the open mind that responds to your customers." says Woodcroft.

To reach this recent milestone, ilab has enjoyed continuing support from both the Queensland State Government, and The University of Queensland.

ilab's eighth Germinate program is now open for applications. Startup businesses who join Germinate 8 can expect the funding, mentoring, facilities and the network needed to gain initial momentum as well as enjoy access to over $500,000 of services from ilab's business partners.
