ADELAIDE, Australia, Dec. 18, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Minelab has added another award to its list of accolades. This month, the world leader in metal detecting technology was awarded the World Electronics Forum (WEF) "New Product Design" Award for Minelab's MDS-10 Dual Sensor Countermine detector.
Presented to Minelab by Bill McFarlane from Madderns, the award celebrates a new product released to the market within the last two years that has had significant technical innovation and/or significant impact on its target market. This was the first time since 2003 that the WEF has taken place in Australia.

In 2016, the Australian Department of Defence awarded Minelab a $6.7 million contract to further develop a dual sensor metal detector with enhanced capabilities to aid in the detection of metal and non-metal explosive device components. As a result, the MDS-10 Countermine detector was designed for superior results, combining unique Metal Detection and Ground Penetrating Radar technologies. It is a lightweight and compact alternative to previous dual sensor detectors, while being highly intuitive for users.
