TIANJIN, China, Nov. 8, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- On November 3rd, WorleyParsons presented "Maximum Utilization of Global Resources for Mining Project Delivery and Sustainability" at the Australian Best Practice in Sustainable Mining Seminar - China Mining 2013 held in Tianjin. This is one of the most important mining events both domestically and internationally.

In his keynote speech, Mr Henry Xing, General Manager of Mineral & Metals CSG, WorleyParsons China, spoke about the technical & non-technical risks and challenges in Mining project delivery for the "Going Overseas" activity of Chinese enterprises. He spoke of such things as local regulations, sustainability expectations, technical obstacles, vendor management, labour & equipment access and infrastructure bottlenecks, etc., which may directly or indirectly result in cost overruns, project delays and reputational damage in executing mining projects overseas.

The Industry has observed the need for collaboration between Chinese enterprises and International engineering firms; by fully utilizing the latter' s global resources, in enhancing project risk management, by optimizing project selection & execution and by active local engagement and effective negotiations with local community, government, non-government organisations and authorities to ensure successful overseas project delivery.
