The Future Directions Forum (FDF) provides an opportunity for industry stakeholders to share and communicate best practices in employing local engineering and project management capability to deliver overseas as well as the innovations in engineering practices, systems and procedures.

Distinguished keynote speakers from a range of organisations included the Australian Trade Commission, the China Academy of Safety Science & Technology, Independent Project Analysis, Infineum, BP and WorleyParsons' advisory arm Advisian. Presentations on subjects such as chemical process safety supervision and management, applying international standards with maximizing local content, sustainable decisions in Chemicals projects, implementing supply chain solutions with Asia supply, best practices for engineering and managing overseas projects from China all provoked lively discussion.

WorleyParsons' CEO, Andrew Wood, introduced WorleyParsons' new service offerings to the audience. "Today we are nurturing two new ventures, Advisian and Digital Enterprise, offering new services to our customers to help them address the challenges they are now seeing in their markets," commented Andrew.  He also expressed the importance of the Chinese market saying, "A key approach to our business in China is based on the premise of 'China roots, Global reach'. We have plans to expand and strengthen our Chinese presence and have three key areas of focus - International Chemicals, Chinese Overseas Investment and complete High Value Project Delivery solutions."
