"X-fest 2012 continues a 15-year legacy of innovation. The last X-fest, which was held in 2010, attracted over 5,500 attendees across the globe and 2,200 in Asia. The response was overwhelmingly positive, with engineers finding the topics relevant in terms of applications and valuable for their real world designs," said Stephen Wong, president, Avnet Electronics Marketing Asia.
"This year we will focus on the Xilinx 7-series of products which are fabricated on the forefront of the 28nm process node, offering programmable system integration with higher performance, reduced total system power and lower BOM cost. We will also present the latest Zynq technology. The Zynq Series combines the ARM® dual-core Cortex™-A9 MPCore™ processing system with the 28nm technology to deliver ASIC level performance and low power consumption, offering the ease of programmability of a microprocessor and the flexibility of a FPGA. Engineers will enjoy the benefits such as faster time-to-market, higher productivity, performance and competitive total system cost in overall," added Wong.
This year's program features twelve technical courses based on Xilinx's new Artix™-7, Kintex -7™ and Virtex ™ 7 FPGAs, as well as the new Zynq™-7000 Extensible Processing Platform (EPP) family. Industry experts and hands-on demonstrations featuring real-world solutions will be showcased from Analog Devices, Inc., Cypress, Maxim, Micron Technology, TE Connectivity, Texas Instruments (TI), Aldec, ARM, Mathworks and Spansion.
Design engineers will leave X-fest armed with the tools and practical knowledge they need to tackle existing and future design application challenges and extend product life cycles. What's more, attendees can completely customize their day by choosing up to four courses from any of the three unique training tracks:
"Avnet and our industry-leading X-fest sponsors have created this seminar series to help designers navigate through the complexities of advanced technologies, providing them with technical insight from a broad spectrum of industry leaders," said Tim Barber, senior vice president, global design chain business development, Avnet Electronics Marketing. "In its fifteenth year, this X-fest is delivering unique content that FPGA and embedded designers around the world can use to propel the technology industry forward."
