SHANGHAI, June 1, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The prosperity of E-commerce conglomerates in China such as Alibaba, Taobao, JD are forcing huge pressure on brick-and-mortar retailers. This in turn results in the deceleration of Chinese consumer market development and indicates China's economy is slowing down. In contrast to the slowdown, the 109th China Daily-use Articles Trade Fair (CDATF) which will be held in Shanghai from August 6 to 8 is still hotly pursued by industry players, as a majority of exhibition spaces has already been booked three months before the event. A total of 2,000 exhibitors are expected to set up exquisite booths, displaying their new products with both high technology and creativity.
The CDATF is China's longest standing one-stop event for the houseware industry and also the biggest trade show of its kind in Asia. It has been organized in Shanghai every August since 1953, at the peak of the sourcing season, serving as the perfect platform for business and networking under one roof. More than 80% of the exhibitors have manufacturing capabilities, thus helping lower the intermediary costs for exhibition buyers.
The 109th CDATF will continue leverage its advantages in six major segments: porcelain, cups/kettles, kitchen products, cleaning products, plastics and glassware. Each sector has already attracted hundreds exhibitors. Bellwethers include Chinese porcelain manufacturers Guangdong Shun'xiang Porcelain Co. Ltd; Cups and kettles supplier Zhengjiang Nanlong Group Co. Ltd; Kitchenware maker Golden Key Cookware; Cleaning products supplier Guangzhou Okaywife Daily Necessities Co. Ltd; Plastics producer Guangdong Shuncheng Plastic Technology Co. Ltd; and Glassware maker Zhongshan Lilac Commodity Co. Ltd.
Many large exhibitors will launch their new products at 109th CDATF. For example, Shunxiang Porcelain will launch the world's only fine porcelain soup pot that can be used on open flame, leading to a revolution in the kitchen. Ningbo Shijia Sanitary Ware Company will display its latest window cleaning series and bathroom series, perfectly integrating fashion and practicality. Organizers will also invite more well-known enterprises to showcase latest editions of their products for sale in the coming season.
This year's CDATF will be expanded further to 10 halls, the largest ever in its history, with a larger variety and more options of products on display at 6,000 booths within 140,000m2. Many suppliers, including Shunxiang Porcelain and Arst Chinaware, have ordered booths covering over 120 square meters. The biggest booth at the fair will cover nearly 400 square meters, being able to meet companies' various requirements with regard to product display.
In contrast to previous editions, the CDATF begin to shift focus from domestic market to a more global stage. Currently, 50% of exhibitors have the authorized licence for cross-border trade business. Their participation will ensure the superior standards of the fair and create a larger platform for the exchange of industry trends between Chinese and overseas players.
In addition to the six major exhibition segments, this year's CDATF has successfully introduced four new segments: home-use textiles, bedding, suitcase & bag and small home appliance.
