YIWU, China, Nov. 11, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The four-day 8th China Yiwu International Forest Products Fair ended in success with recorded turnover of 4,718 million yuan (approx. US$773 million), up 0.75 per cent year on year. Turnover from domestic sales stood at 3,503 million yuan, 74.25 per cent of the total, whileturnover from export sales reached 1,215 million yuan, 25.75 per cent of the total.
The fair, featuring 3,677 booths spread over an 80,000-square meter exhibition space, attracted 1,502 exhibitors from 34 countries and regions worldwide, making the show the largest of its kind in China. Buyers visiting the show numbered 403,200, including 5,086 from abroad, 26 professional procurement teams and 10 overseas procurement teams. The top five countries in terms of the largest number of buyers taking part in the event were Pakistan, Russia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine and Nepal.
Exhibits at this year's fair included timberwork and wooden building materials, furniture and accessories, bamboo and wooden artware, daily necessities made of wood and bamboo, forest foods, tea products, floriculture as well as forestry technologies and equipment spread across 11 special exhibition areas.
As one of concurrent events, the Forest Fair Multinational Purchasing Merchant Trade Fair, brought together 30 buyers from 15 countries and regions worldwide, including Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Pakistan. Their purchases focused on furniture, wooden doors and floors, bamboo weaving and carved goods, as well as stationery, gifts and dried fruit, with 166 qualified buyers taking part in the event.
