SHENZHEN, China, Jan. 11, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- TCL, one of world's leading consumer electronics manufacturers, showcased the complete range of its innovative products at the International Consumer Electronics Show 2016 (CES 2016) held in Las Vegas, Nevada, from January 6 to 9, 2016. TCL's Quantum Ultra High Definition (QUHD) TV, a television set that is considered to be the definition of next-generation smart TVs, made its global debut at the show.
TCL's QUHD TV, a highlight of the show, sets a new standard in the smart TV market
At CES, the event where each year's technological innovations get a chance to be viewed and rated by the market, TCL has displayed its latest achievement in the TV industry, the new QUHD TV series enabled by the QUHD technology.
As one product in the QUHD TV family, a high-end product line launched by TCL, the X1 QUHD TV, which the company unveiled prior to CES, comes equipped with a number of top line features, including industry-leading hardware, H/K audio and the smart TV+OS system, in addition to the QUHD technology. By making full use of the quantum properties inherent in the selected materials, combined with the support of the quantum image quality processing engine as well as several integrated technologies, including IDP (Intelligent display process) engine, full partition precise backlight control, the HDR display and signal processing integrated technology, the suite of technologies delivers excellence in image quality, including the widest color gamut coverage, a high luminance dynamic range, ultra-high contrast, accurate color matching and extraordinary backlight control.
The QUHD TV series, built on the fundamental innovation of backlight technology, has set a higher standard for next-generation TVs, bringing an end to disputes over what is actually the next-generation TV technology. QUHD TVs, by taking full advantage of the unique quantum technology, far exceed LED TVs in terms of display effects and also surpasses OLED TVs in terms of several key metrics, including definition and color purity. Additionally, QUHD TVs are residual shadow-free and have a longer life expectancy and higher energy efficiency, among other advantages, over other types of television technologies, providing a more affordable and appropriate choice for potential buyers of smart TVs. TCL plans to expand its QUHD TV line, which currently consists of two differentiated models: the X1 and the C2, to include more high-end products, in a move to create the strongest high-end portfolio across the industry.
TCL, one of China's earliest quantum TV manufacturers and one that has invested heavily and achieved the most in the field of quantum technology, has grown into a vertically-integrated TV maker with businesses covering the full spectrum of the industry, from LCD modules to LCD panels to complete TV sets. Based on its unique advantages in R&D and production of TVs, TCL has become the only TV manufacturer in China that has the ability to produce quantum TVs, fully demonstrating the company's competitive advantages in product innovation over other TV producers.
