HONG KONG, June 29, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- In honour of the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), Sino Group is presenting an array of events to commemorate the special occasion with the broader community.
Harbourfront Sino Malls radiate with 120,000 colour-changing LED lights bulbs
The highlight of the event line-up is a spectacular LED light show featuring 120,000 LED light bulbs and spans 8,700 sqm across the facades of Tsim Sha Tsui Centre and Empire Centre, China Hong Kong City, The Royal Pacific Hotel & Towers and Sino Plaza. From 26 June to 21 July, between 6pm and 11pm daily, the walls of the four properties will be turned into pyrotechnics of Hong Kong's world-famous cityscape and fireworks to celebrate the city's veritable charm and energy. Spectators at various locations on both sides of the iconic Victoria harbour can enjoy the LED pyrotechnics that will complement the gorgeous night views of Hong Kong.
Enjoying light decorations during festive seasons like Christmas has become a home-grown and proud tradition, which was initiated in Tsim Sha Tsui East, in which Sino Group is headquartered, more than three decades ago. Echoing the pioneering spirit of Sino Group, the LED light show adds vibrancy to the special occasion and inspire both locals and tourists.
Capturing 'I Love Hong Kong' through the lens
With its unique East-meets-West, old-meets-modernity culture and a diverse cityscape, Hong Kong is one of photographers' favourites. As the city celebrates a new milestone, it is opportune to engage the community to rediscover the charm of Asia's world city.
Sino Malls is rolling out the 'My Fascinating Hong Kong!' photo competition, inviting members of the public to capture Hong Kong with their cameras and submit their favourite photographs. The competition features two categories, namely, 'Hong Kong Scenery' -- the city's urban architecture and natural scenery, both long-time favourites among lovers of photography; and 'Hong Kong Love' -- faces, experiences, happenings, among others, that illustrate the warm relationship in the local community or families.
The photo competition is supported by China Hong Kong City, Citywalk, Gold Coast Piazza, Lee Tung Avenue, Olympian City, and tmtplaza. Interested parties can simply fill the online form and upload the photo, together with a caption about where the image was taken and a brief description, to the designated website between 30 June and 31 July. For details, please visit http://HKPhotoContest.sinomalls.com.
The entries will be assessed by composition, techniques demonstrated and subject matters by a judging panel comprising professionals. Champion, first runner-up and second runner-up, as well as five merits, will be selected for each category. Prizes include coveted photography equipment and shopping vouchers.
Go on a visual adventure with a pro
In support of the abovementioned photo competition, Sino Malls presents guided photo tours on weekends in July. Acclaimed photographer Mr Schindler Leung will host the tours and share photo-taking tips with the participants through live demonstration. More information will be made available on the Facebook pages and in-mall promotional materials of the participating malls.

In the spirit of sharing and supporting those in need, Sino Malls is organising a camera recycling programme in July in collaboration with Christian Action.
